Good news for fitness buffs with a love of travel – Australasia is getting its first ever health-focused hotel.
Just a few weeks ago, we rounded up some of the hotel chains with innovative new fitness offerings like in-room workout facilities.
EVEN, a new brand from the Intercontinental Hotels Group, was among them.
And news has just broken that the IHG is introducing the brand in this neck of the woods. The first property will open across the ditch in Auckland in 2020.
The newcomer features early morning yoga classes, fresh and organic food, in-room exercise zones, fitness and aromatherapy amenities.
According to the hospitality group, the property will meet the changing priorities of holidaymakers who are now more concerned with their health and fitness than ever before, even when they’re on the road.
“We have a created a brand that will deliver a local wellness experience to travellers for whom health and wellbeing is so important,” IHG chief executive Asia Middle East and Africa Jan Smits said.
“I firmly believe that the EVEN Hotels brand will be a key driver in market share growth in New Zealand and Australia.”
On the exercise front, EVEN will offer guests “state-of-the-art”, functional gym areas along with space dedicated to small group fitness classes. There will also be the opportunity to work out in your own room.
Meals with be nutritious and “ethically-sourced” thanks to suppliers THR1VE.
It’s not just about food and exercise either.
It’s about the bigger wellness picture. Think bedrooms with plush bedding, aromatherapy amenities, lighting with the power to energise or relax. All is intended to promote a good night’s sleep which we already know is so important for our overall wellbeing.
The new 200-room hotel will be located in the heart of Auckland’s city centre, at the corner of Albert and Wyndham Street.
